2006 CSU FSAE TEAM

This project was to design, build, and race a small scale vehicle. The competition is judged over several categories, both subjective (design and presentation) and objective (cost, acceleration, handling, and endurance). This leads to a very simple design approach for most teams, resulting in a large number of cars utilizing tube frame chassis, chain drives, and conventional suspensions. Our team took a different approach: we took the opportunity to experiment with as many innovative technologies as possible. We used a carbon fiber monocoque for the chassis, a sealed gear drivetrain, and a rotary mono-shock design for the front suspension.
